Report: Thunder in extension talks with Adams, Oladipo

The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to lock their core in place for the foreseeable future.

The Thunder are engaged in contract-extension talks with center Steven Adams and shooting guard Victor Oladipo, sources have told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Adams and Oladipo are both in the fourth and final year of their rookie deals, and are slated for restricted free agency at season's end. Monday marks the deadline for extending such players, so the Thunder will have to work quickly.

According to Wojnarowksi's sources, the team is discussing an extension in the $100-million range for Adams, and the $80-million range for Oladipo. Both would be four-year deals, the maximum allowed on extensions to rookie contracts.

Adams, who the Thunder drafted 12th overall in 2013, broke out as a two-way force last season, and figures to be a focal point moving forward now that Serge Ibaka is gone.

Oladipo, who came over from the Orlando Magic in the Ibaka trade this past summer, was the second overall pick in Adams' draft. He averaged 16 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals last season, while shooting career-best percentages from the field (43.8), 3-point range (34.8), and the free-throw line (83).
