Wizards' Markieff Morris: Fills box score on opening night

Morris scored 22 points (9-18 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block across 28 minutes during Thursday's 114-99 loss to the Hawks.

Analysis:

Morris is typically a well-rounded producer, but he took his scoring in particular to greater heights in the season opener, helping the Wizards save face a bit on a night where John Wall (12 points) and Bradley Beal (13 points) turned in subpar production. Those two co-stars figure to get back on track sooner than later, which will result in fewer shot attempts for Morris, but the forward nonetheless profiles as an intriguing commodity in most leagues while he's locked into the starting gig at power forward.
