Lakers' Jose Calderon: Practices Thursday

Calderon (calf) returned to practice Thursday, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Analysis:

Calderon sat out Wednesday's season opener with the strained left calf, an injury that been bothering him for nearly two weeks. With the point guard getting back on the practice court Thursday, it appears the worst of the injury is now behind him. Calderon could have a shot at playing Friday against the Jazz, but if coach Luke Walton prefers to act cautiously with the veteran and hold him out, Jordan Clarkson and Marcelo Huertas would see some more run at the point guard spot on the second unit.
