Cavaliers' Iman Shumpert: Likely to participate Friday against Toronto

Coach Tyronn Lue said Shumpert (concussion) has a "great chance" of playing in Friday's tilt with the Raptors, Joe Vardon of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis:

Shumpert exited Tuesday's season opener against the Knicks in the third quarter with concussion-like symptoms and was placed under the NBA concussion protocol. Fortunately, it seems like Shumpert's symptoms dissipated quickly, as he returned to practice Thursday, which bodes well for his status for the team's first road game. Shumpert ended up seeing most of his time as the backup point guard in the opener, but with Kay Felder (concussion) cleared to return Friday, Shumpert would likely move back to his more natural position on the wing if he ends up playing.
