Grizzlies' Zach Randolph: Provides double-double off bench

Randolph submitted 19 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds and one assist across 25 minutes in Wednesday's 102-98 win over the Timberwolves.

Analysis:

New coach David Fizdale decided in training camp to transition Randolph to a bench role this season in order to allow the more athletic JaMychal Green to enter the starting five, but as the season opener revealed, it doesn't mean that the veteran is being phased out of the rotation. In fact, due to his historically reliable contributions as a volume scorer and rebounder in the lower block, Randolph has a good shot at surpassing Green in fantasy value. Green saw only four more minutes than Randolph on Wednesday, and the playing time distribution between the two should remain fairly even over the course of the campaign, as both players offer differing skill sets that provide value in their own ways.
