Trail Blazers' Noah Vonleh: Goes 5-for-5 from field Tuesday

Vonleh supplied 11 points (5-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one rebound and one block across 16 minutes in Tuesday's 113-104 win over the Jazz.

Analysis:

Vonleh looked to be on the outside looking in for a rotation spot heading into training camp, but thanks to a strong preseason and the ongoing absence of Festus Ezeli (knee), the third-year big man was able to carve out a role off the bench in the season opener. He actually ended up outpacing Meyers Leonard (nine minutes) for playing time, suggesting that Vonleh could be viewed as the top backup to starting power forward Al-Farouq Aminu. Vonleh's flawless shooting night and plus-14 rating when he was on the court will likely keep him ahead of Leonard in the pecking order for now.
