Mavericks' Devin Harris: Out at least three weeks

The Mavericks announced Wednesday that Harris is dealing with a sprained right big toe and will be reevaluated in three weeks, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

While it's encouraging that the injury doesn't concern his left big toe, which has already required surgery twice, Harris will require a walking boot for the next three weeks while he looks to recover from yet another significant sprain. Harris is expected to avoid surgery on the right toe, but his timetable is still rather fluid. If the three-week projection holds, Harris will miss at least the first 10 games of the season, opening up expanded minutes for J.J. Barea and Seth Curry behind the starting backcourt of Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews.
