Raptors' Lucas Nogueira: Now a game-time call for opener

Nogueira (ankle) has been upgraded to a game-time decision for Wednesday's season opener against the Pistons, Raptors radio play-by-play broadcaster Eric Smith reports.

Analysis:

Nogueira was initially ruled out for the opener as of Tuesday, but he's since been reevaluated and will have a chance to take the court Wednesday night. Coach Dwane Casey didn't provide much insight into the situation, offering only "We'll see," when asked about Nogueira's status. If the young big man is ultimately cleared, he could see a decent share of minutes behind starter Jonas Valanciunas. The Raptors are without Jared Sullinger (foot), and it's unclear whether rookie Jakob Poeltl is ready to be a rotational big man at this point in his career.
