The former basketball player was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma last August, and passed away months later at the age of 60.

As the Timberwolves head coach and president of basketball operations, Saunders was pivotal in constructing the current team, which has playoff aspirations entering the 2016-17 campaign.

"Whenever you step into this practice facility and you're playing for the Timberwolves, this is all (Saunders') vision," Andrew Wiggins told Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune. "We're just keeping it alive."

Wiggins and his teammates also paid their respects to Saunders through social media:

still making your vision live on, miss you coach ! #ForFlip
