Pelicans' Tyreke Evans: Remains without firm timetable

Evans (knee) remains without a firm return timetable, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports. "[Evans has] been working hard. His body looks great," GM Dell Demps said. "We'll have a better indication [on a timetable] in maybe two weeks. We hope to have him back hopefully before January. Could it be late November? Maybe. Maybe early December, mid-December. It'll all depend on how his rehab goes over the next couple weeks."

Analysis:

Demps indicated that Evans has began participating in on-court activities, but it will likely be a couple of weeks before the Pelicans put forth a more definitive timetable. With Evans sidelined indefinitely, E'Twaun Moore is set to open the season as the Pelicans' starting shooting guard, while Buddy Hield will see plenty of minutes at the position off the bench.
