Jazz's Gordon Hayward: Sidelined Tuesday against Portland

Hayward (finger) won't play in Tuesday's season opener against the Trail Blazers, Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Hayward has yet to receive clearance for practice and figures to remain out until mid-November while he recovers from a fractured left ring finger. Joe Johnson is expected to start at small forward in the opener and should hold down those duties until Hayward is ready to return.
