Raptors' Lucas Nogueira: Ruled out for opener
Nogueira (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's season opener against the Pistons, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis:
Nogueira is still hampered by a sprained left ankle, which he suffered during Friday's exhibition finale against the Wizards. In Nogueira's absence, coach Dwane Casey said rookie Jakob Poeltl will see more minutes off the bench, while starting center Jonas Valanciunas figures to assume a slightly larger workload. Nogueira's next chance to take the court will come Friday night when the Raptors play host to the Cavaliers.
