Rockets' Kyle Wiltjer: Makes regular season roster

Wiltjer has made the Rockets' final 15-man roster, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.

Analysis:

Wiltjer had a solid showing with the Rockets during their preseason schedule, averaging 8.3 points and 2.6 rebounds over 15 minutes per game, which helped him beat out his competition for one of the final spots on the team's regular season roster. The 6-foot-10 big man out of Gonzaga is quite skilled on the offensive side of the ball, but is a liability defensively, which will ultimately keep him off the court on most nights. He'll offer the Rockets a deep reserve in the frontcourt, but it wouldn't be surprising if he saw a bunch of time with the team's D-League affiliate in order to gain valuable experience that he won't get while riding the bench during most games with the Rockets.
