76ers' Jerryd Bayless: Expected to miss first month of season

Bayless (wrist) is expected to miss the first month of the season, ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman reports.

Analysis:

Bayless missed the entire preseason after suffering a torn ligament in his left wrist, and he's yet to resume any sort of full-contact workout. While the 76ers indicated that Bayless won't require surgery, he'll still need some extended time off to recover, and it's certainly conceivable that he'll end up being sidelined for more than a month if he encounters complications along the way. The 76ers signed Bayless with the expectation that he'd slot in as their starting point guard, but the team will now go with some combination of Sergio Rodriguez and T.J. McConnell to begin the season.
