The Sacramento Kings have waived point guard Jordan Farmar, the team announced Monday.

Farmar averaged 6.5 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 rebounds on 47.1 percent shooting in four preseason games for Sacramento.

The 29-year-old started last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv before signing with the Memphis Grizzlies in March. Farmar averaged 9.2 points, 3.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 12 games with Memphis.

Sacramento will be thin at point guard to start the season, with Darren Collison set to serve an eight-game suspension for domestic violence.

Isaiah Cousins, the 59th pick in this year's draft, was also waived Monday.
