Report: Bayless out a month with torn ligament in wrist

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Jerryd Bayless will miss the first month of the season as he recovers from a torn ligament in his left wrist, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

The team announced last week that Bayless would not require surgery on his wrist, but would miss the start of the 2016-17 campaign recovering.

Bayless agreed to a three-year deal with Philadelphia this summer after coming off a season in which he shot a career-high 43.7 percent from deep.

Sergio Rodriguez, T.J. McConnell, and Nik Stauskas could all see time at point guard in Bayless' absence.

The Sixers' roster will be thin to start the season, with Nerlens Noel and Ben Simmons both out for extended periods of time.

Bayless averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 52 games with the Milwaukee Bucks this past season.
