Report: Rockets elect to release Prigioni, not Ennis

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets have changed their minds as it pertains to which point guard they'll be parting ways with.

The team has decided to waive veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

The original plan was to reportedly release Canadian Tyler Ennis, but that has since been changed to Prigioni being the one to bite the bullet.

Despite only having four years of NBA experience, Prigioni may not have many years of basketball left in the tank at 39 years old, which may have played a part in the Rockets' decision to keep Ennis, who's 17 years younger.

The franchise first acquired Ennis in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks on Sept. 22 in exchange for forward Michael Beasley.

Ennis made six appearances for Houston during its preseason run, averaging 6.8 points and two assists on 39.4 percent shooting.
