Hawks' Tiago Splitter: Progressing in rehab

Splitter (hamstring) was able to take part in individual work on Monday, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.

Analysis:

Splitter was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain just under two weeks ago and was originally slated to miss four weeks at the minimum. He appears to be on track in his recovery and was able to do some individual work Monday, although it was reportedly at just a moderate intensity. With Splitter sidelined at least another couple of weeks, he obviously won't be ready for the start of the season, which means we should see Mike Muscala and Walter Tavares open the season as Dwight Howards' top backups at center. Look for further updates from Splitter as he continues to progress through his rehab.
