Report: Rockets plan to release Tyler Ennis

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets are planning on releasing point guard Tyler Ennis, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

A new deal between the two parties could come to fruition once Ennis clears waivers.

The franchise first acquired the 22-year-old Canadian in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks on Sept. 22 in exchange for forward Michael Beasley.

Ennis made six appearances for Houston during their preseason run, averaging 6.8 points and two assists on 39.4 percent shooting.

He was the 18th overall pick of the Phoenix Suns in the 2014 draft, spending his rookie campaign with the team before playing two years in Milwaukee.
