Pistons' Aron Baynes: Expected to play Wednesday

Coach Stan Van Gundy said that Baynes (nose) should be able to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Raptors without any restrictions, Jake Chapman of the Pistons Radio Network reports.

Analysis:

Baynes has been limited to non-contact workouts the last two days since returning from a broken nose suffered last week, but after undergoing surgery and meeting with a doctor over the weekend, he's expected to receive clearance for full practice Tuesday. The Aussie is set to reclaim his role as the top backup to starting center Andre Drummond this season, duties that should afford him around 15 minutes per game.
