Heat's Josh Richardson: To miss start of season
Richardson (knee) has yet to take contact during practices and won't be available for the Heat's season opener Wednesday against the Magic, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis:
Richardson said he's still dealing with some residual soreness in his right knee, but on a more positive note, he's not experiencing any pain during movement. The guard is still without a firm timetable for a return, and the Heat are unlikely to offer anything of the sort until he resumes taking full contact. Until Richardson returns, the Heat will be forced to lean more heavily on the combination of Dion Waiters, who is expected to start at shooting guard, and Tyler Johnson, the team's top guard off the bench.
