Mavericks' J.J. Barea: Likely to play in opener
Barea (elbow) is likely to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Pacers, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis:
Coach Rick Carlisle intimated that Barea has a good chance to take the floor Wednesday night after the veteran guard was able to take part in portions of practice over the weekend. With Devin Harris (foot) expected to be held out, Barea and Seth Curry could see expanded roles behind backcourt starters Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews.
