Jazz's Derrick Favors: Limited at practice Sunday

Favors (knee) was a limited participant in Sunday's practice, Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Favors was sidelined for all but one preseason game due to a bone bruise and IT band soreness in his left knee, so his activity Sunday -- even in a limited capacity -- is an encouraging sign. The power forward still looks highly questionable for Tuesday's season opener against the Trail Blazers, so he may need to put in a full workout Monday in order to improve his outlook. Even if Favors ends up playing Tuesday, he may not play a full complement of minutes, which would create more opportunities for Trey Lyles.
