Draymond Green has exchanged plenty of trash talk with Kevin Durant in their matchups over the years.

At some point, amid the drama and heated Western Conference rivalry, the two became friends, which paved the way for them to become teammates on the Golden State Warriors.

"I can't tell you exactly when we became friends, but when it's real and genuine, you can't pinpoint it," Green told Bleacher Report's Chris Palmer of his new frontcourt mate.

The two represented Team USA in Rio, where they spent most of their free time together playing cards and discussing their goals before capturing gold.

"The more time you spend with somebody, the more your relationship grows," Green explained. "I think we were together for 37 days this summer. I just realized, man, I like that dude because he's a lot like me."

That may come as a surprise, as the Michigan State product is known for being brash, while Durant is generally quiet and soft-spoken. They share a competitive fire and desire to win, however, and that's what they plan to do together on the Warriors.

Now reunited in the Bay Area, the 6-foot-7 forward has been helping to ease KD's transition to the Warriors, with whom he signed in free agency. Green has been feeding the four-time scoring champ the ball and telling him to shoot, while also defending him in the media.

"In 10 years, when people ask these guys who's the best teammate they ever had, I want the answer to be Draymond Green," the 26-year-old added.
