Report: Timberwolves waive Rasual Butler, Toure' Murry

Soobum Im / USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves are waiving small forward Rasual Butler and guard Toure' Murry, league sources tell ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Butler spent last season with the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 2.7 points, and 1.2 rebounds in 46 games.

Murry hasn't played an NBA game since 2014-15, when he split time with the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards.

With Butler and Murry released, point guard John Lucas III should have a solid shot at making Minnesota's opening day roster.
