Cavaliers' Kay Felder: Enters concussion protocol

Felder sustained a head injury during Friday's practice and has entered the league's concussion protocol, NBA.com reports.

Analysis:

Felder hasn't been ruled out for Tuesday's season opener against the Knicks, but his potential absence could keep the Cavaliers incredibly thin at point guard, as starter Kyrie Irving is the only other player on the roster capable of playing the position. The Cavaliers were already looking to trade for another floor general prior to the season opener, so Felder's situation may prompt the team to be even more aggressive in their pursuit. As the roster currently stands, Felder will take on the top backup role once he passes through the concussion protocol. The Cavaliers aren't expected to update his status until Tuesday morning.
