Hornets' Brian Roberts: Will not play Friday

Roberts (hamstring) won't play in Friday's preseason finale against the Timberwolves.

Analysis:

The Hornets are acting cautiously with the banged-up Roberts, who projects to open the season as the third-string point guard this season behind starter Kemba Walker and backup Ramon Sessions. It's generally expected that Roberts will be ready to go for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Bucks, but since he's not usually going to enter coach Steve Clifford's rotation, there's a good chance that he won't end up seeing the floor in that game.
