Hornets' Spencer Hawes: Will not play Friday

Hawes won't play in Friday's preseason finale against the Timberwolves for rest purposes.

Analysis:

Hawes has been a fairly consistent contributor for the Hornets this preseason, playing at least 19 minutes in each of his six appearances. He'll be given the night off for the second game of a back-to-back set to close the preseason, but figures to enter the rotation to begin the regular season in the likely event that Cody Zeller (knee) remains unavailable.
