Warriors' JaVale McGee: Earns final roster spot

McGee survived the Warriors' last round of cuts and is part of the team's 15-man roster, Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The 28-year-old center averaged 5.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 10 minutes per game during the preseason.

Analysis:

This should not come as a big surprise as McGee offers a rim-protecting element that's missing from the other available centers, Zaza Pachulia and Anderson Varejao. The Warriors have one other center, rookie Damian Jones, who underwent surgery in June for a torn pectoral muscle, and is due back in December. McGee, who joined Golden State as a training-camp invitee, is the only player on a non-guaranteed contract still with the team.
