Rockets' Trevor Ariza: Suffers through 1-for-8 shooting night

Ariza was held to three points (1-8 FG, 1-6 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist and one steal across 26 minutes in Wednesday's 106-91 preseason win over the Mavericks.

Analysis:

New coach Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo offense is generally expected to benefit Ariza, but the preseason returns haven't been encouraging. He's shot an awful 29.7 percent from the field and 24 percent from the three-point line over his last five appearances, reaching double figures just once during that span. The 31-year-old could drop a few spots in drafts a result, but he's still a safe target in the middle rounds because of what he provides over the course of the season in terms of scoring, three-pointers, rebounds and steals.
