Lakers' Timofey Mozgov: Questionable for Friday

Mozgov (tailbone) sat out practice Thursday and is listed as questionable for Friday's preseason finale against the Suns, Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

Analysis:

Mozgov suffered a bruised tailbone in the third quarter of Wednesday's game against the Warriors when he was undercut while attempting a put-back dunk. He received additional treatment Thursday, and the Lakers will wait and see how he's feeling at morning shootaround Friday before making a call on his status for the game. Assuming Mozgov is able to get over the issue within a few days -- regardless if he plays Friday or not -- he'll likely be cleared to open the regular season as the Lakers' starting center.
