JaVale McGee makes Warriors' 15-man roster

Warriors Report/Twitter

JaVale McGee is among the players on the Golden State Warriors' 15-man roster following the cuts of Cameron Jones, Phil Pressey, and Elliot Williams on Thursday.

After signing a training camp deal this summer, McGee played well in limited minutes this preseason, averaging 5.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks while introducing the world to his unique new hairdo.

McGee's $1.4-million salary will become guaranteed on Jan. 10 should the Warriors choose to keep him.

Hanging onto McGee was likely an easy decision for the Warriors, who were in desperate need of a rim-protector after losing both Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli this summer.

McGee spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 5.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks on 57.5 percent shooting in 34 games.

It remains to be seen how much playing time McGee gets on a loaded Warriors roster, but it's not unrealistic to predict he could receive rotation minutes considering Golden State's lack of experience up front.
