Bucks' Greg Monroe: Shoots 35 percent from field in preseason play

Monroe finished Wednesday's 111-103 preseason win over the Pacers with two points (1-8 FG), eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 23 minutes.

Analysis:

Monroe showed some rare multi-category production in his appearance off the bench, but the 1-for-8 shooting game continued a troubling trend during the preseason. He finished the Bucks' exhibition slate with a 20-for-57 (35%) showing from the field over five games, a terrible mark for any player, much less someone who spends an inordinate amount of possessions near the rim. Those shooting struggles likely ended any hope Monroe had of regaining the starting center gig over Miles Plumlee, and while Monroe still figures to see the majority of the time at the position, he may be in for a decent-sized downgrade from the 29.7 minutes per game he averaged when he worked as a member of the second unit last season.
