Celtics' Marcus Smart: In the starting lineup Wednesday

Smart is in the starting lineup at shooting guard for Wednesday's preseason finale against the Knicks, Jay King of MassLive.com reports.

Analysis:

With Avery Bradley getting the night off for rest, Smart will slot in on the top unit and should also get some opportunities to initiate the offense, as regular starting point guard Isaiah Thomas is also receiving the night off. During the regular season, Smart will work as the primary backup at both guard spots and also offers the defensive versatility to guard small forwards. Look for his playing time to increase a bit from the 27.3 minutes per game he averaged in 2015-16, especially after former sixth man Evan Turner joined the Trail Blazers in the offseason.
