Heat's James Johnson: Out Thursday vs. Hornets

Johnson (foot) will be held out for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis:

Johnson departed Tuesday's matchup against the Magic with a left ankle injury, and the team will hold him out Thursday as a precaution. It's possible the veteran could play in the exhibition finale Friday against the 76ers, but getting healthy for the regular-season opener next week is obviously Johnson's top priority.
