Dwyane Wade is looking forward to his new challenge, not rehashing old struggles.

Having made the move from South Beach to the Windy City this summer, Wade is getting a chance to live out his childhood dream of slipping on the Bulls jersey in his hometown.

That's his focus at the moment - he's not thinking or planning a move back to Miami anytime soon.

"I never thought I would not be there," Wade told Rohan Nadkarni of Sports Illustrated. "At this point in my career, I’ve been asked that, and it’s not a focus of mine. I’m happy where I am.

"I gave Miami everything I had for 13 years. The years I have left, hopefully I can give as much to Chicago. You never know what the future holds so you never want to say yes or no. Anything is possible. But, I’m cool right now. I’m good."

Although Wade was testing free agency for the second time in two offseasons, the prevailing thought around the league was that he would return to Miami where he built his legacy. Wade looked like a Heat lifer to the point where teams didn't even take him seriously when he first started exploring free agency.

"No, they didn’t think it was serious," Wade said of his suitors. "And rightfully so. I’ve been in one place for 13 years and have a, quote-unquote, legacy in Miami. I’ve opted out of my deal a few times and been back. They didn’t take me seriously."
