Heat's James Johnson: Leaves game with foot injury
Johnson left Tuesday's preseason game against the Magic with a left foot injury and was unable to return. He finished the game with six points (2-4 FG, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three blocked shots across nine minutes.
Analysis:
The injury was labeled a "slight tweak," so it doesn't appear to be a serious issue. It's expected that the Heat will update Johnson's status during Wednesday's practice, after which his availability for Thursday's exhibition finale with the Hornets should be known. Johnson is a candidate to see time at power forward this season, but Derrick Williams looks like the frontrunner to open the regular season as the starter at the position.
