Hawks' Jarrett Jack: Won't be ready for start of regular season

Coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed Tuesday that Jack (knee) won't be ready for the start of the regular season, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

Jack is still working his way back from a torn ACL that required surgery in January, and has yet to receive clearance for full contact. With the preseason schedule winding down, it's unsurprisingly that Jack won't be ready to go for the upcoming campaign, and there doesn't seem to be a definitive timetable for his return. Jack's absence will likely allow Malcolm Delaney to open the season as the Hawks' top backup at point guard behind starter Dennis Schroder.
