GM survey: Warriors title favorites, LeBron for MVP

Bob Donnan / USA TODAY Sports

The annual NBA.com general manager survey for the upcoming 2016-17 season was released Tuesday.

To the surprise of nobody, the consensus seems to be that one of the Cleveland Cavaliers or Golden State Warriors will win the title. Those two teams split the vote with Golden State receiving 69 percent and Cleveland garnering 31 percent odds of winning the title.

As for which player will be named MVP for the 2016-17 season, LeBron James tops a star-studded list with 46.7 percent of the vote - well ahead of the Warriors' duo of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Player Percent of votes
LeBron James 46.7
Russell Westbrook 23.3
Stephen Curry 10
James Harden 10
Kevin Durant 6.7
Paul George 3.3

General managers also voted on the best players at each position. Again, there were very few surprises on the list.

Position Winner Percent of votes Runner up
PG Stephen Curry 63.3 Russell Westbrook
SG James Harden 56.7 Klay Thompson
SF LeBron James 76.8 Kevin Durant
PF Anthony Davis 29.0 LeBron James
C DeAndre Jordan 33.3 DeMarcus Cousins
