Jazz's Rodney Hood: Will not play Monday

Hood (hand) won't play in Monday's preseason game against the Clippers, Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports.

Analysis:

Hood, who is dealing with a sprained left hand, was listed as doubtful heading into the day, so it's no surprise that he'll be held out for a second straight game. The shooting guard had his left ring and pinkie finger taped together during the Jazz's morning shootaround, but was still able to shoot the ball well while working out on the side, according to KSL.com's Andy Larsen, so he doesn't seem at much risk of missing the start of the regular season. With both Hood and Alec Burks (ankle) sitting out Monday and Gordon Hayward (finger) sidelined through mid-November, expect Joe Johnson and Joe Ingles to see the majority of the minutes on the wing Monday.
