Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Begins rehab process

Davis (ankle) rode a stationary bike during practice Friday and was able to do some shooting, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Coach Alvin Gentry confirmed Friday that the Pelicans expect Davis to be sidelined for 10-to-14 days while he recovers from the Grade 2 right ankle sprain he sustained during Wednesday's preseason loss to the Rockets. With the Pelicans kicking off the regular season Oct. 26 against the Nuggets, Davis' recovery timetable may keep him unavailable for that contest, but it's not likely that he'd miss many games beyond that. The big man was set to being full-scaled rehab exercises over the weekend and could resume light on-court activity within the next few days if he progresses as anticipated.
