Wizards' Trey Burke: Notches double-double off bench

Burke compiled 14 points (6-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, two steals and one rebound across 29 minutes in Saturday's 124-119 preseason loss to the Kings.

Analysis:

John Wall was restricted to 22 minutes Saturday, allowing Burke to recover the remaining time available at point guard. It was by far Burke's best game of the preseason, as the 14 points tied his best effort for the exhibition schedule, while his 10 dimes were three more than he'd totaled in the first three games combined. Burke's role will take a big hit once the regular season begins, but he should hold down a consistent rotation role with the Wizards' second unit.
