Whiteside will be rested for Saturday's preseason contest against the Timberwolves.
Analysis:
The Heat are playing their second game in as many nights, so Whiteside will take a breather Saturday after recording 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block across 22 minutes in Friday's win over the Spurs. Willie Reed is expected to replace Whiteside in the starting five.
