Kings' Rudy Gay: Resting on Saturday

Gay won't play in Saturday's preseason matchup with the Wizards for rest purposes, Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports.

Analysis:

After turning in his top performance in the preseason Thursday against the Lakers with 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in 37 minutes, Gay will get some time off to keep himself fresh for the start of the regular season. With Gay sitting out Saturday, Matt Barnes, Omri Casspi and Lamar Patterson could garner some extra run.
