Suns' Marquese Chriss: Supplies strong performance in Friday start

Chriss totaled 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds, an assist, four blocks and two steals across 34 minutes in Friday's 112-107 preseason victory over the Mavs.

Analysis:

The rookie continues to impress irrespective of where he's deployed, with Friday's preseason-high playing time coming at the five with both Alex Len (coach's decision) and Tyson Chandler (hamstring) sitting out the contest. The proximity to the basket helped set the stage for a high-water mark of four blocks and he also drained his first trio of three-pointers, a striking display of the versatility he brings to the floor. Chriss will be tough to keep off the court if he continues to string performances the likes of those he's generated over the first five exhibition tilts, which include double-digit scoring efforts in all of those games, along with an average of 6.2 rebounds.
