Mavericks' Jonathan Gibson: Efficient performance off bench Friday

Gibson tallied 13 points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds, an assist and a steal across just 12 minutes in Friday's 112-107 preseason loss to the Suns.

Analysis:

Gibson put forth a highly efficient performance over his modest amount of time on the court, posting his first double-digit scoring effort since the exhibition opener in the process. The 28-year-old displayed some serious offensive chops last season in the Chinese Basketball Association and during the Las Vegas Summer League, but faces a steep climb to appreciable playing time at point guard, where he slots behind incumbents Deron Williams, J.J. Barea and Devin Harris.
