Nets' Chris McCullough: Doesn't play in Thursday's game

McCullough (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Thursday's 100-97 preseason loss to the Celtics.

Analysis:

It's not uncommon for teams to hold out key players for rest purposes during the preseason, but that doesn't necessarily apply here for McCullough, a 21-year-old who has yet to firmly establish himself as a rotation option and could probably benefit from all the playing time he can handle. McCullough's lack of usage is perhaps a reflection of his low standing on the depth chart, which hasn't improved based on his prior preseason appearances. He's hit just 4-of-13 shots and has six turnovers to one assist across 44 minutes during the exhibition schedule.
