Mavericks' Quincy Acy: Will miss Friday's game

Coach Rick Carlisle said that Acy (ankle) will remain out for at least Friday's game against the Suns, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Analysis:

Acy, who sat out Tuesday's win over the Thunder with the injury with a sprained right ankle, will get a few days off to recover, but the Mavericks don't believe he's dealing with a serious setback. The expectation is that he'll be ready to go for the start of the regular season, filling a depth role in the team's frontcourt. In moving from the Kings to the Mavericks this offseason, Acy shouldn't be expected to see much of an increase from the 14.8 minutes per game he received in 2015-16.
