Grizzlies' Zach Randolph: Drills four threes in win over Sixers

Randolph scored 17 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go with eight rebounds, one assist and one steal across 17 minutes in Tuesday's 121-91 preseason win over the 76ers.

Analysis:

It was an impressive line in limited minutes for Randolph, who said he's worked on expanding his shooting range over the summer. That work certainly appeared to pay off Tuesday, as he knocked down four three-pointers, tying his regular-season career high set back in February 2009. While Randolph probably can't be counted on for that kind of high-volume three-point shooting on a night-to-night basis, he appears poised to increase his output from beyond the arc after attempting just 26 treys in 68 games last season. He may have to make do, however, with what's expected to be a slight downturn in minutes this season, as he's slated to move to the bench role under new coach David Fizdale.
