Jazz's Alec Burks: Without a timetable

Burks (ankle) is without a return timetable, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Burks is yet to be cleared for contact since undergoing knee surgery in June, but coach Quin Snyder said last month that he expects the shooting guard to be back before the start of the regular season. When asked for comment Saturday, Snyder indicated only that Burks is continuing to work toward a return. "There's no way for us to predict day-by-day when he will return," Snyder said. "He's making progress and he's doing everything he can to get back. But he's not at the point where he can return, yet." With Gordon Hayward (finger) expected to miss six weeks, Burks, if healthy, would likely step into an expanded role at the start of the season.
